Model Rocket Mondays

If you watched Tom P. on mtv cribs, you know that he isn't very good at model rockets. Well, he's been practicing. Here we have the Mean Machine, 6 and a half feet of model rocketry goodness. Upon launch, all was going good. As the 'chute deployed, the wind began to gust slightly, pulling it towards the large trees in my front yard. It cleared the big ones, but we weren't in the clear yet. It was coming down and closing in on the power lines and the busy highway. As we sprinted for the rocket, it came down in a small pine a mere 15 feet from the road, an arms reach up. It was a glorious day for rocketeers everywhere as the launch and recovery were both a success.

Walk the Plank..

Clips for "walk the plank" havent come easy for any of us....matter of fact we havent filmed many clips at all. There's enough crashes to fill 2 videos however. Here's a little peek into the abuse Randy Mobley and Austin Phillips endured on one random filming day. What you dont see is Randy flying face first into a stack of pallets, nor what he attempted before said crash happened....stay tuned.

So many people

After spending a week with nothing but 3 generations of Rowlands on an island in a huge lake in the middle of nowhere, being home and being around so many people is really strange. It feels the same every year. My tv for the past week has been Matt's hilarious stories of close encounters with bears and people accidentally shitting in their waders. It's so much better than tv. There is a long rant about nature, over population, being at peace and recluse-ism brewing in my head but ill just say that if one day i ever go missing, Matt will have a pretty good idea of where i went.

Tabletop Friday

Here we have Char tabling over the box jump at Hippie Steves last weekend. If this doesn't get you pumpd up for the weekend, well, i don't know what else to write as the caption, it's 5 am and now I'm going to be late for work. Photo cred: Brett from BMXNJ

An exclusive Chris Ball sighting caught on film!!!

Chris Ball is an original Kingsport OG from back in the day. I happen to find myself at the right place and the right time with a picture taker in my hand. You see how i waited for the sky to get the perfect color that would reflect the shitty paint in the bowl, and how Chris' shirt ties it all in...beautiful.The tranny in this bowl is god awful, somehow chris lets it fly anyway. Well done sir...well done.

This is for you America.

It's day two on our trip to Canada. After a huge dinner and an hour nap Matt and I go out on the lake and he catches this 3rd cast. He's only worn a t shirt with an American flag and a bald eagle with no sleeves. Muskie Matt astonished all the Canadians yet again. Matt says he caught this muskie for America. Here you go MURICA!!!

North Jersey

This past Saturday, a few of us headed north to meet up with Adam and Brett from BMXNJ. Brett took us to Hippie Steves backyard set up. I had seen pictures and videos of it before and Brett got us the hook up. Big thanks to Hippie Steve for letting us ride there. Brett also showed us some trails on the way home where everyone, including myself, had a blast. Thanks again to Brett for the hospitality.

"it's gonna get weirrrrddddd" -Adam

Jimmy hadn't ridden in a few months due to injury. I'd say he dusted off the cobwebs. He literally did everything all day.

Someone stole Charlies sleeves while he was asleep. If you find them, please contact the authorities.

I'm a two trick pony.

Im back with a 3-way update.....Florida Weekend...Mountain party...Devin.

Amateurhour was all over the place a few weeks ago, simultaneous road trips to New Jersey and Florida happened. Here is a quick rundown of my trip. I mostly went down to attend the last jam session at "The church park" Clermont Florida's only park. Chelsi Mock (park manager) put togther a nice little BBQ and laid back jam for the kids as her farewell send off. Pretty laid back session. -Local stuntman and Amateurhour rider John Walski went upside down. Took a few shots of Jimmy Elias, bacwards ride hop may be trick of the year. Add in the fact that he was mockingly singing "Headstrong will take you on" while doing so made it all that better. After the jam my best Florida drinking buddy Linzy Moore decided it would be best to grill food and drink beers in the tee-pee that sits alongside hwy 27. Im not sure of the legality of it but it happened anyway and was a pretty good time. Thats was pretty much that...... Moving on. Darius had his annual mountain party and i was told i was there. I pretty much only remember making indian calls, watching Mike Paton walk over fire, and rolling down the mountain....... moving on. lastly we have Devin, he's pretty much filmed an enitre part in 4 weeks. The kid is 8 feet tall and warps frames like pretzels. I heard a ran down a cheetah and took its lunch money. Anyway, at the top are some shots ive gathered over the last few weeks.

Table top thursday?

It comes a day early because Matt Rowland and I will be leaving at 4am for Canada. For the next week you can consider this a fishing blog, updated via satellite internet from my phone on an island in the middle of nowhere.

Devon at Eds bike shop.
