tabletop Friday.... honor edition.

I'm taking a different approach to this tabletop Friday. Why not honor the tabletop Gods before us with some of the classic tabletop photos that made bmx history? When it comes to the tabletop Gods, the supreme ruler is.... Vic Murphy. And here it is folks. The hands down most famous, most badass, flattest, perfect one footed table ever done in the last 30 years. Off a curb! We are starting this tribute at the top, and hopefully Lord Vic wont mind me stealing this photo. Friday night folks, stare at the perfection, get pumped and go get rowdy.   www.dirtbrosbmx.com

2nd annual Flynt Zigler driveway jam.

Its 11pm... its been about 3 months since this jam happened. I'm tired and my memory is foggy at best. Years of head trauma will do that to a person, so will an 8 pack of beer. Regardless, here is my thoughts and pics from one of the best driveway jams I've ever attended. The day started off with a game of "bmx" with random drawings decided who goes head to head. Rules were simple, with Flynt throwing in a "two letter infraction" if someone bails out of trying anything. Luckily no one back flipped, bailing out with this crowd would've resulted in mockery. The setup changed after each round and the vibes were good all day. Lots of fun, i don't wanna bore you with details. Jake Hunter and I filmed and he made an edit ill share on here as well. . In the end it was Austin Phillips taking the win. Next up came the "hop" contest. Normally i find these contests horribly boring, but Flynt made this one great. Instead of your own horse, the bike chosen was this 30lb 12 inch xgames......thing? Very tricky to ride, it was missing pedals and the whole thing buckled after each landing. Somehow a few dudes got it figured out and the height bar kept going up, in my amazement. With the extra height came the extra punishment, and she gave up the ghost before the contest had a proper ending. Regardless, thanks to Flynt for having everyone over. Thanks to the Erwin locals for building ramps , and thanks to the Angry Penguin for the prizes. .

this was hard to time right,  one footed toboggan taken a split too late.
Anthony Williams rode smooth all day.

Austin Phillips doing the moves, anti moves.
Little Jon pulled this gap to wallride with no bitch runs or roll ups....man status.
Austin went bar spin to fastplant off the roof.  Bar-spin, not "bars" cause that's fucking retarded.
Dave's face says it all here as Austin pulled said trick. Austin is currently lawn darting to gravel in the background.  don't worry folks, the gravel was unharmed.
Derrick Hudson was on hand with signs of encouragement.
Dave Williams fell down some stairs and had to sit this one out.
Little "don't give two fucks" Jon
Jacob Hunter. always on hand looking sharp.
Unknown Knoxville local. Tooth hanger over the gap.
after reviewing the photos, i do believe this was the highest hop before the frame shit the bed. Honorable mention goes to Austin.
Jon Harter came up from Knoxville and taught his bike how to downside smith to drop in on this sketchy set-up.

The man who made it all happen.

Another Day at the Races

JR showed me this earlier today. Clearly, no one is the winner here, well I guess technically, the second monkey won, regardless... JR says the monkey was out to take the bear down from the get go, I say the bear had time to get around him, your thoughts?

On a sad note, Al Fritz, inventor of all that is bmx, passed yesterday. Raise your glass to the man who's made it all possible, the inventor of the sting ray, and the reason i get out of bed every morning.

Tabletop FRiday returns!!!!!

Fridays have been lame on this blog lately. There's been lots of angry letters, picket lines, thrown garbage, etc. from the viewers. The message is heard loud and clear. This week Jake Booher is getting your weekend started off right with a tweaker up in the clouds. I could watch Jake Booher tabletops all day. If this doesn't do it for you, i question your existence.  Its Friday folks.....the sun is out, look out the window from your cubicle and start the countdown.

new jersey smokeout 2013

4 weeks ago The mayor of Delmont (Mike Paton) hosted yet another bmx jam at his home/skateapark. To keep things fresh Mike went all out and added 3 new additions to the park which tied the entire place in nicely. A new hip, an up/over/down ledge and a 5 foot fly box means the delmont park has lines for days now. Add 2 kegs of booze, 40 burgers, 80 hot dogs, an entire pig and you you have yourself a damn fine bmx bbq jam.  The vibe was good all day, lots of gnar to talk about. Everyone give Mike a high 5 for throwing such a good jam. The pics are terribly lit and somewhat out of focus. Its amateurhour folks.....  so sorry          lets look at the pics....
Kenny Shoulders beat me at volleyball and badminton......
Unknown table at height.
This dude showed up with a board and proceeded to win the evening. Dude ripped.

Pretty sure that bottle went quick.
Stephanie wanted me to sneek in a pic of Charlie and her
Kevin Little gettin it.... these captions suck
Jay Robbins got this line from the 8ft into the mini
J.T. Lotek killed it. 720 over the box.  Maxed out the height bar at 8 feet outta this quarter.  was wild
