Our beloved mascot Howard has been taken from his home in my garage. Tom p is believed to be the one responsible. Tom doesn't seem to have any demands and appears to be feeding the plastic duck pizza somehow. I'm not really sure what's going on here.

Went down to Tennessee for the weekend, instead of giving you too many words, which you dont want to read anyway here's the weekend in pics and videos, you fill in the gaps while i remember how not to write run on sentences.

Alright.

Ive decided to remove anything from this blog that isn't ah material. What is ah material? It's bike riding and good times. What it isn't, is drama. I don't use facebook or twitter or whatever the hell kids are doing these days for the purpose of avoiding any kind of drama. This isn't a blog for anyone to express their personal feelings towards one another so I'm not even going to bother sharing mine about the given situation. Give me a call and i will tell you exactly how i feel about it if you would like to know. I'm not going to let all 14 of our loyal viewers be subjected to anything dramatic, however hilarious it may be.

4 Dicks, No Chicks

Jim Shea, Jay Robbins, Flatland Paul, and myself got together today and filmed a little edit this afternoon. There aren't going to be too many more 60 degree days up here, so we decided to get out and do a little shredding. Despite waking up and having alcohol poisoning, we managed to ride and film. Bolts baby, bolts.

Florida weekend.

I lived in Clermont Florida for about 4 years. The scene is small, with few skateparks. When i heard The Church park was having its first ever skate/bike jam i felt obligated to go. Throw in two rad guys from N.J. and we have a road trip. First stop daytona beach skatepark.

awesome park, lots of variety. Met two local dudes named Cole and ...Damnit i forgot his name. Nothing really happened, beach breeze, good little sess. They took up the way to Ormond beach skatepark, and this place was awesome. I feel like a pic or a line woulda happened but the lights went out too soon. after this session we headed down 95 to cocoa beach. Always a good time. Drinks flowed, all in all was a good night.
Day 2 started with a marathon vomit celebration. haha thank god for continental breakfast. On our way to the Church park i look bak to see Carbomb Tom giving back his breakfast into a bag.

Things went down right away at the contest. Mike paton sweet talked the owner into givinh the green light on a bomb drop from the roof onto a little spine. Amateurhour team rider John Wolski hopped up and trained in behind him, stoked on that.

Did i mention how hot the owner was? anyway John Wolski rruled it. Flair, whips, 270 from the 7 foot hip into the 4 foot quarter. That was Rad. Some kid flipped the smallest ramp there?

Mike P stalled a gnar back rail, the quarter was shady rolling into it. Took a few tries and the crowd appreciated his efforts.

i threw down the only crowd pleaser i really know.

It was a lot of fun. we met up with the Park staff later on at a bar and actually got loose with them. Mike P " i cant believe im getting drunk with church people!' haha they are really people and if you ever find yourself in Clermont hit up the Church park. They have a facebook page. /thechurchpark. Sunday we headed up to Kona skatepark. I dont know what to say. it was surreal. the history behind this place, all the whos who that rode there. This place was here from day one of skateboarding and bike riding.

the kids just dont know. I spent the day just hanging out and staring. Its like going to a museum. Met a dude there named "Red Bull Dave" who was completely awesome. Ill put him around the age of 43? Been ripping for who knows how long and still going. he looked me square in the eyes and said "never stop riding" The passion for bikes doesnt age, and after that weekend i can say no, i wont ever stop riding.

Our first dvd, Congratulations a$$hole, is now available at EDs bike shop in Vineland NJ and at the Angry Penguin in Johnson city TN... duh. Filming is underway for our next one, WALK THE PLANK!, all in caps and followed by an exclamation point. Heres a relevant picture to get everyone motivated to go out and ride!

I really can't put the past weekend into words, perhaps these pictures will do justice.

I want to thank everyone that came to the premier and thank you for the kind words and positive feedback. It means a lot to me to have this video done and to see people enjoying it. Thanks to the Hideaway for letting us have the premier and thanks to Skelton Pecker for always kicking ass. I feel lucky to have such good friends to share such good times with. The NJ premier will be at the end of this month and we plan on trying to make it an even bigger party. A more refined version of the movie will be for sale soon for a few dollars. Stay tuned for more details and pictures from the premier.

whats at stake?

4 days until Congratulations asshole hits the big screen at the hideaway. For many reasons premeirs like this are important to me, for one its a proper way to get together with your friends and relive the past moments together one more time before moving on to the future. its a celebration thats deserved of all the time and pain involved in making a video. Bmx is dangerous, no matter what skill level. A good party and 40 minutes of memories is really all you get at the end of it. That may seem like very little, but in a way its more than we ever imagined. Im proud of the vid we made and so this saturday come out and support your local scene and riders for all the work put in. Bmx is alive and well, and its little gatherings like this that keep it strong. see you there

Matt fucking Rowland. The older i get the more i realize that not alot of people keep it real. Matt Rowland is the presient, chairman, and c.e.o of keeping it real. In this picture hes making every bike rider on the planet look silly. Yeah im talking to you! Opposite table top fully freakin flat while wearing hiking shoes in front of the house he built with his own hands. Matt wins. End of story.

New Jersey?

A lot has been going on as of late, and we wanted to wait til the dust settled to post an update. As you can see above, the Amateurhourbmx.com T-shirts have arrived in New jersey and Tom wasted no time celebrating. See myself or Tom if you'd like to pick up a shirt, many sizes and colors to choose from. The New Jersey Premiere is set for October 1st with additional information to come. Expect a BBQ, some BMX, and a few bands to be on hand as well. Delmont Skatepark got an upgrade recently and more should be done in time for the festivities.

We hope to see you here in October, Tom might even share his beer with you.
